We can’t believe our eyes! After a memorable feud with Allure for categorizing her as “basic” in its July 2014 issue, Lauren Conrad is now owning it.
The Hills alum, 29, famously took to Twitter last year after hearing of Allure‘s categorization, saying, “I definitely just got called a basic b—ch! Haha! Really @Allure_magazine?”
But this year Conrad, who married William Tell in September of last year, has a different outlook concerning the colloquial phrase. “I’m probably pretty basic,” she told Cosmo. “But I’m also a pretty happy person, so that’s okay with me.”

Conrad, who will be showing her LC Lauren Conrad Runway line for New York Fashion Week this month, also opened up about the boost that her reality show roots gave her career. “Television was just sort of an accident… I never felt really strongly about it. But fashion is something I feel passionate about. If I hadn’t done TV, I still would have ended up in the [fashion] industry, but I definitely wouldn’t be in the position I am now,” she said.
